Thierry Jacob, born on March 8, 1965, in Calais, France, was a distinguished French professional boxer who made a lasting impact on the sport during the 1980s and 1990s.
He turned professional in 1984 and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming the WBC super bantamweight world champion in 1992. Over the course of his career, he also held the European (EBU) bantamweight title from 1990 to 1991 and the French bantamweight title in 1987.
Jacob’s professional record consists of 45 fights, with 39 wins (including 20 by knockout) and only 6 losses.
After retiring from the ring in 1994, he remained an iconic figure in French boxing. Sadly, Thierry Jacob passed away on December 20, 2024, at the age of 59. His legacy as a champion and an inspiration will endure for generations to come.
